During installation process, the outdoor display needs to be protected against external environment such as strong wind, water and shock. Once a serious disaster such as a fire occurs due to improper installation and maintenance or poor product quality, the consequences will be immeasurable.   Whether the quality of the LED display meets the standards

  Thermal design

  High temperatures are fatal to stability of LED displays and may cause worse safety problem, only the qualified thermal design can conduct good heat dissipation and ensuring a safe working condition for LED display. By observing the heat dissipation design of the display manufacturer, you can quickly understand whether the product is up to standard. It is recommended to start with the heat dissipation of the screen, then the cabinet, module and PCB. Taking PCB for example, 4 layers PCB performs better head dissipation than 2 layers one. And if electronic components (such as driver IC and capacitors etc) on PCB are concentrated rather than evenly placed on the whole PCB, it will cause heat dissipation issue and affect the stability and image quality of LED display.

  Waterproofing

  Waterproof is critical and a must to outdoor LED display. For outdoor installations, the IP rating has to be at least IP65. At first, the gluing has to be done precisely to ensure the waterproofing of the LEDs and won’t affect its viewing angle. Besides, the solid coating has to be performed on the PCB to protect it from damage of humidity, salt and corrosion. In addition, the module has to be equipped with waterproof soft rubber rings. At last, the cabinet frame has to be truly waterproof, any leaking problem will cause endless troubles and bring big safety risk.

  According to statistics, for every 5 °C increase in external ambient temperature, the life of the cooling fan of the LED display will drop by about 50%. If the LED display is installed in the high temperature environment, the ventilator or air conditioner are necessary to create air circulation to cool the LED display and maintain its normal working temperature.

  In addition to high temperature, long-term exposure in the open air, the dust and humidity in the air may cause mildew to PCB board and electronic components. Which affects the performance and service life of the equipment tremendously. Even worse, it may catch fire and lead to serious disaster. Therefore, it is critical for the owner to perform a regular cleaning and maintenance work to the LED display.

• User's maintenance awareness

  

  With the continuous breakthrough of LED technology in recent years, more and more advertising agencies are investing big capital on LED display and upgrading their print billboards into digital LED billboard displays for better advertising and media content delivering. But a regular cleaning and maintenance work is usually neglected by many users. They may have no such awareness or simply think LED display requires no maintenance just like print billboard.

  In fact, after long-term use of outdoor LED display, a large amount of dust and impurities will accumulate on the surface. It is very important to do regular cleaning and maintenance to maintain the ideal working condition for the LED displays. The cleaning will be both on its surface and inside of cabinets. But the first thing is to cut off power of the LED display before conducting any cleaning.

  Except the regular cleaning and maintenance, a scheduled inspection should also be conducted at least once a week. The inspection content mainly guarantees whether there is abnormal sound, odd smell and color difference in the LED display. If the LED display is not used for a long time, it needs to be inspected beforehand.

  When the LED display screen is working, it is better to avoid full brightness white running all the time. Because full brightness white will maximize the power consumption and is easy to cause current overload, power supply overheating and other phenomena, which has a serious impact on the life of the LED display.
